The aquarium is looking good, and the build-out is also going well. Here’s a current pic:
The coralline algae are doing very well. It’s the purple stuff covering the rocks. I also have a bit of an algae problem, but the lawnmower blenny and Foxface fish are working hard to clean it up. I also have a pack of hermit crabs working the case.
I’m letting things kinda go for now because the algae eats the “bad stuff” in the aquarium and keeps them in check. Things will clean up quickly as time goes on. It’s just part of the process.
Automation
I’m also working on an automated control system to manage the lights, pumps, and similar. It also monitors temperature, water levels, and similar in the tank:
It’s kinda ugly right now, but I’ll clean things up once I’m done designing and testing:
I’ll post more on this as things progress. It’ll look nice once I’m done with the proof-of-concept.
A friend of mine (Vato) did all the hard lifting on this project. I’m a newbie to this type of project. You can see the relays that will switch various things on and off. Also, temperature sensors and a sonar module to monitor water levels are included. He did me a HUGE favor in setting this up! Wait until you see the final result. True me, it’ll be awesome!
