This weekend, we went to see “We Gotta Bingo” – Chicago’s hilarious Interactive Dinner Theater Experience. I’d like to include some pics from their website here, but copyright laws say that’s not really a good idea. That said, check out their website: www.wegottabingo.com
This was one of the best shows we’ve been to yet. It wasn’t super flashy or formal, but that’s kinda what made it awesome.

We are constantly looking for new and fun things to do, that aren’t completely “touristy.” This show definitely was a good match. It was awesome, and yet not so polished that it was impersonal. You could tell everyone loved their job/the show and really enjoyed what they did. The main photo in this article shows one of the prizes for winning a round of bingo. It was amazing to see how competitive we (and most everyone else) got over somewhat simple prizes.

The feature pics show the artist & creator of our gift. It is a toilette paper cover that is a little more friendly that the ones I have seen in the past. In fact, the “old ones” are kinda creepy and play a subconscious role in my dreams, sitting quietly in the background while haunting me. This gift rocks. We were thrilled to win it. It turns out; it also makes a fantastic hat (not discovered until we were live on the stage). Again, more pics are in the album.
The show really is interactive. You can make as much of it as you would like. They don’t really make any one person participate. They seemed to do well at asking the most outgoing peeps to help out. You can pretty much sit in the background, if you want to relax and just take in the show. If you are more outgoing, you can jump in and participate. I don’t believe there was ever a time everyone was “encouraged” to jump in and do anything crazy. It was relaxing, but you could really make the show what you wanted it to be.
The actors do work to involve folks in the fun. But, it seemed if you sat back and wanted a little distance, they respected that. The food was good. I don’t know how to describe the music. It was completely awesome and yet wildly tacky at the same time. I can only say that you must experience it and decide where you stand on that kinda thing. I didn’t ask if they had CD’s, but I would enjoy going back and experiencing all ironic twists and melodic catastrophes again. It was fun…and unique…and a creative mashup of soooooo many genres. It was very well done, yet amazingly real and sincere. It’s hard to describe. We highly recoomend that you go see it.
