Feeding Time at the Zoo

They absolutely LOVE shrimp! The first time I dumped it in the water, it seemed to scare them. They are used to it now and can barely wait for more!

The Hawkfish is very shy and prefers low light. Since this spot is so bright, I can’t get any good picks of him. He’s already snarf’d down several reef janitors, so he seems to be doing well:)

Those are some energetic looking fish! Glad to see you back in the AQ business. I’m sure they’ve found a great home. I look forward to seeing them in the new tank!

Why so yellow? Can’t you afford decent lights?

  4. Ha ha…Those are mercury vapor lights. We are trying to stay away from the blue spectrum to keep nuisance algae at bay while those base-rocks seed with bio. Once we’re ready, we’ll add beneficial algae and various reef critters that need to photosynthesize, but we’ll give them a head start when we do.
